I'm a Peace Corps volunteer in Madagascar, and during long bus rides and long walks I keep pondering this match:

Lina Inverse of Slayers v. Alucard of Hellsing

I see Slayers isn't listed in interests, but most otaku should have at least some knowledge -- it's more popular than Hellsing, at least.

Here's how I see it:
-I can see Lina saying "Red-eyed monsters? Whatever." because of her victory over Shabranigdo. And that was her first victory -- what about later, when she has Philbrizzio under her belt?
-But Lina only beat Shabs because she had the Sword of Light to amplify her will. Does she have it again in her battle with Alucard? And is Integral Hellsing watching and helping Alucard? Because if it comes down to a battle of wills between Lina and Integral, each wielding such strong occult powers -- eee, looks bad for Lina in that case.

Of course, there are lots of factors that could go into this, but any thoughts everyone?

Let me be the first to say welcome! For a while I thought this was a lost cause. ^^;

Its hard to tell, since both are quite powerful. Lina is the kind of person who wouldn't give up and would try to use everything she could possibly use to win. But at the Same time Alucard is very hard to kill, and just when you think he's dead-dead, he seems to come back. I like them both but I might have to go with Alucard mostly for the reason of he still has a lot of power that is unkown and its unclear as to what he can do. The same applies to Lina obviously but I think Alucard might still have an trumph card that could beat her.

Also the other thing is bothcome from two different worlds where the rules are probably slightly different. Both have strengths and weaknesses.

I agree, Slayers is more popular. I couldn't remember all of the fandoms I have been in but thank you for pointing it out and I will add it to the list of interests. ^^
